The Chekhov Actor's Training combines the comprehensive approach of Chekhov with George Shdanoff's techniques covering acting, coaching and directing actors.

The Chekhov Actor's Training

Offering courses in English, German, French and Italian, The Chekhov Actor's Training besides training individual actors also conducts special courses on request from Schools, Universities, Drama Academies and Theatre Companies.

While The Chekhov Actor's Training courses are especially meant for professional actors and directors actively working in the industry, it occasionally makes an exception to the rule in the case of naturally gifted and highly talented amateurs.

"As an actor, you the artist have to perform on the most difficult instrument to master, that is your own self, your physical being and emotional being. That, I believe is where all the confusion of the different schools of acting stems from and that is why Michael Chekhov's 'To the Actor' manuscript, which I hold in front of me, is worth more than gold to every actor. In fact, I believe to every creative artist." Yul Brynner

The Revival of Chekhov: Reaffirming the widely-held belief that Chekhov's approach to acting is as relevant, if not more so, today than it was then - is the heartening news of a Re-edited, New Version of Michael Chekhov's book 'To the Actor' being released shortly in bookstores. Out of print for several years, its re-publication is a cause for celebration by admirers of his technique. The book is a must for every aspiring actor or director who feels passionately about his work.

"The Chekhov Actor's Training was the best thing I have done for my career. Working with Daniele Legler is a rare and transforming experience. I walked out of The Chekhov Actor's Training into an audition room and into a lead role. That would never have happened without what this course gave me. It proved that to be a good actor and give an inspiered performance you do not need an incredible script and a brillant director, you need yourself. The Chekhov technique is a way to know and rejoice in your artistic impulses daily and for the rest of your career."

"What brought me to The Chekhov Actor's Training is that while auditioning actors, I've seen a couple recently in the last six months whose work has really impressed me. How they have been able to dismantle the image that they have come in with and attempt to create what the director was asking of them. Watching (them) actually pull themselves apart and then bring it all back together to incorporate what was being asked of them. I found that very truthful and very brave, which caused me to ask them all where they had been working, because I felt they had been working with some technique I hadn't seen other actors in the city use.  So, they all mentioned The Chekhov Actor's Training with Daniele Legler."
